JD(S) heading for split, Prakash relentless

Bangalore, Oct 29: The Janata Dal (Secular) in Karnataka is heading towards a split as the efforts by former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and other leaders failed to convince former Home Minister M P Prakash, who had decided to meet Governor Rameshwar Thakur and stake a claim to form the government with the help of the Congress.

Earlier in the day, senior JD(S) leaders including Chaluvarayaswamy, party supremo H D Deve Gowda's eldest son H D Balakrishna and others met Mr Prakash but the outcome was stated to be negative, party sources told UNI
