Western Railway won railway volley ball championship

Kapurthala, Oct 26 (UNI) Western Railway won the 30th All India Railway Women Volley Ball championship, which concluded at Rail Coach Factory here yesterday, Western Railway won the championship by defeating Central Railway by 3-0 (25-19,25-20,25-21).

Southern Railway secured the third position defeating Eastern Railway by 3-2 (scores 22-25, 25-22, 27-29, 25-14, 15-12).

RCF General Manager S K Suri gave away the prizes to the winners.

FM favours steps to moderate capital flows

New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) Finance Minister P Chidambaram today favoured steps to control capital flows without affecting investments, even though he said it was too early to assess the impact of SEBI's decision yesterday relating to tightening of Participatory Notes(PNs). Kanoria chemical net up 129%, issues bonus shares

New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) Country's leading manufacturer of chemical intermediates Kanoria Chemicals and Industries Ltd (KCI), today said its net profit for the second quarter ended September 30, 2007 jumped 129 per cent to Rs 11 crore as compared to Rs 4.8 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal. EC issues showcause notice against BJP MLA

Gandhinagar, Oct 26 (UNI) Cracking a whip against BJP MLA Pradeep Singh Jadeja, the Election Commission has issued him a show cause notice against him for printing pamphlets showing photograph of himself and Chief Minister Narendra Modi with symbol of BJP (lotus) along side the photographs of ''Maa Amba'', ''Jai Ambe ni Arti'' and ''Vishvambhai stuti''.
