Red alert in Tiger reserves

Dehradun, Oct 26, 2007 : Forest officials have started a special vigil in Rajaji and Jim Corbett national parks in Uttarakhand to protect tigers from being poached during the festival season.

A red alert has been sounded in both national parks after forest officials got information from their sources that some gangs from the northern states of Rajasthan and Haryana have become active in the adjoining national park areas.

Kokrajhar, Jan 25: On the eve of Republic Day, a powerful bomb and a large cache of explosives were recovered in separate incidents in western Assam districts today. Security forces recovered a powerful time bomb in Kokrajhar town, averting a major disaster. According to official sources, the bomb was recovered in front of the civil hospital around 0500 hrs. Channel receives email threat of serial blasts in Delhi

Noida, Feb 22: An electronic channel here today received an e-mail threatening serial blasts in Delhi, near here, Noida SSP A Satish Ganesh said. He denied the claims of the Delhi Police that the mail was received by their Noida counterpart. The SSP refused to reveal the channel's name and said the mail was sent from Delhi. He said checking had been done at malls, shopping complexes and vital installations here to avoid any untoward incident. UNI.....
