Two-day global investors meet begins today

Indore, Oct 26 (UNI) A two-day global investors meet took off here today with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurating the meet.

Around 400 investors from across the country and overseas are attending the meet, targeted to rope in investment of nearly Rs one lakh crore, half from ther ADAG.

Mr Anil Ambani set the ball rolling making a courtsey call on the Chief Minister, promising investment in power, cement, technical education and BPO sectors in the state.

Chain snatchers reveal plot to revive militancy

Jammu, Oct 26 (UNI) Two former 'Khalistan Zindabad Force' (KZF) militants, who were among the three arrested chain snatchers here, have revealed plans to revive militancy in Punjab and intensify it in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources today said. Hailstorm creates havoc in Arunachal villages

Itanagar, Oct 26 (UNI) A cyclonic storm followed by hailstorm has caused damage of property worth Rs one crore to the people of Sille Oyan circle in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. Official sources here today said the cyclone, which hit the area on October 19 last had left a trail of destruction with heavy rain and hailstorm for a couple of days. Andhra Bank Q2 net up 3.2 pc at Rs 151.21 crore

New Delhi, Oct 26: Public sector Andhra Bank has reported a net profit of Rs 151.21 crore for the quarter ended September 30, an increase of 3.26 per cent as compared to Rs 146.43 crore during the same quarter last fiscal. The total income of the company rose by 86.59 per cent to Rs 1,183.41 crore for the quarter, as against Rs 882.52 crore for the same period in 2006, a company statement said.
