SP MP dismissal matter pending with President

Siddharthnagar, Oct 26 (UNI) The matter pertaining to the dismissal of Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Shankhlal Manjhi for presenting fake caste certificate is still pending with President Pratibha Devisingh Patil.

Mr Manjhi is the MP from Akbarpur (reserved) assembly seat in Ambedkar Nagar district.

On June 18, the caste certificate of Mr Manjhi was found to be fake.

According to a letter sent to BSP MP Lal Mani Prasad by Principal Secretary of Election Commission M K Majumdar, ''the matter is now pending with the President.'' UNI

Israeli troops raid Gaza, kill three militants

GAZA, Oct 26 (Reuters) Israeli troops killed three Palestinian gunmen in separate clashes in the Gaza Strip today as the army mounted raids into the coastal enclave, Palestinian medical and militant sources said. The Islamist Hamas movement, which controls the territory, said one of its fighters had been killed in northern Gaza.
