Sonosite to expand its operations in India

Bangalore, Oct 26 (UNI) Global leader in handheld ultrasound machines, Sonosite is expanding its operations in India through its recently launched Indian subsidiary.

Country Manager Pavan Behl told newsmen here that the company, which had two products, had already sold over 250 machines started direct selling operations from January this year and expected to capture ten per cent of the 70 Million US dollar ultrasound machine market in India The Indian subsidiary was the tenth worldwide for the US based company which had had an installed base of over 36,000 systems across the globe.

Mr Behl said the company aimed to grow at around 40 per cent and had started awareness campaign among various State health departments to take the Handheld Ultrasounds to remote areas for various medical requirements. The medical gadget could help clinicians deliver better patient care by bringing the high performance visualisation tools right to the bedside of patients These ultrasound machines with a battery back up fornearly four hours were designed for imaging in traditional applications such as radiology, cardiology, vascular medicine and obsteriutrics and gynecology. It could also be used as emergency medicine, surgery, critical care internal medicine and anesthetics procedure.

TFDPC to set up TSR rubber manufacturing unit in Tripura

Agartala, Oct 26 (UNI) The Tripura Forest Development and Plantation Corporation Limited (TFDPC) has sanctioned a modern rubber factory with Technical Specified Rubber (TSR) which would come up next month. TFDPC officials said here today that the rubber sheet manufactured in latest TSR method had tremendous demand in international market and TFDPC set up the unit with a capacity of five tonne TSR with an investment of Rs 2.94 Crore at Takmacherra in south Tripura. Jindal Stainless approves issue of 10.94 lakh equity shares

New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) Jindal Stainless Ltd today said its board has approved the issue of 10.94 lakh equity shares of Rs two each upon conversion of 600 Convertible Bonds. Convertible Bonds are due 2009 of 30 lakh dollars. Consequent upon conversion of convertible bonds, the paid up equity share capital of the Company has been increased from Rs 28.62 crore to Rs 28.84 crore, a company statement said. UNI.....

Baalu approves highways improvement work in Karnataka

New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) Union Road Transport and Highways Minister T R Baalu has approved a sum of Rs 1254.61 lakh for highways improvement work in Karnataka. Mr Baalu approved the proposal for widening of the Sholapur-Mangalore Section of National Highway-13 to two-lane. Earlier the road from Chitradurga to Shimoga was a Major District Road (MDR) and it used to cater to the traffic volume, which was less as compared to the present traffic. The existing crust was inadequate.....
