Rs 76 crore worth essential commodities seized in AP

Hyderabad , Oct 26 (UNI) Enforcement and Task Force Teams headed by Civil Supplies Department officials today conducted surprise checks and raids on fair price shops, LPG outlets and petrol bunks and seized Rs 76.16 crore worth essential commodities.

According to an official release here, 3,306 cases were registered for violation of various control orders, throughout the state, from January one till date.

As much as Rs 75 crore worth pulses and Rs 16.33 lakh worth rice were recovered from the shops during the raids.

School student dies after being beaten by teacher

Kahalgaon, Oct 26 (UNI) Ashish Anand, a student of St Joseph School, died today after being allegedly beaten up by a teacher in Bhagalpur district. Official sources said here that Ashish, a student of standard XII, was allegedly beaten up by a teacher in the school located under Nathnagar police station. New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) The Supreme Court today declined to give early hearing to the petition filed by former Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress (DPYC) president Sushil Sharma, facing death sentence in tandoor murder case.
