Srinagar, Oct 26 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has asserted that the Greater Srinagar Plan stands formulated up to 2020 with an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore.

Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development department Aijaz Ahmad Khan has made it clear that there was no dearth of funds for development of Greater Srinagar city in a planned manner.

For the purpose, Greater Srinagar Plan stands formulated up to 2020 with an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore, he added.

''Serious efforts and judicious utilisation of funds are required to achieve this goal.'' Mr Khan further said for the provision of drinking water, better transport facilities and treatment of sewerage and drainage within municipal limits, the central government has sanctioned Rs 13.37 crore for Jammu and Kashmir.

Out of the estimated Rs 400 crore, Rs 124 crore have been received by the state government as first installment, he added.

To solve the drainage and sewerage problems of the Srinagar city, a project report was under process. Similarly, detailed project reports of water supply schemes of Tangnar, Nishat, Doodhganga and Kohimaran-Devi Angan have already been submitted to the Centre involving a cost of Rs 182.82 crore, Mr Khan said.
