Police arrests 10 Myanmarese poachers from North Andaman

Port Blair, Oct 26 (UNI) The Andaman and Nicobar Police have arrested ten foreign poachers from the Sound Island of North Andaman.

Police got imformation that some Myanmarese poachers had been sighted in and around South Island . Following the tip off, an anti-poaching team of police proceeded to the area and arrested the poachers, Superintendent of Police, Andaman, Ashok Chand told UNI today.

A Myanmarese dinghy and other items had also been seized from the poachers .

''We have also recovered fishing equipments, diving glasses, a spare engine, HSD oil, rice, torches, plastic rope and wooden box with tools,'' Chand added.

The SP added that the poachers were being interrogated.

Chennai, Oct 26 (UNI) Two persons were killed and eight seriously injured when a State Transport Corporation bus hit a container lorry near Guduvancherry on the outskirts of the city this morning. Police said the bus was coming here from Vriddachalam in Cuddalore District when the container lorry carrying wooden logs came to a screeching halt after one of the tyres burst. Federal Bank rights issue priced at Rs 250
