One person arrested in the Ajmer blast case

Ajmer, Oct 25 (UNI) One person was arrested from Godda district of Jharkhand in connection with the Khwaja Garib Nawaz masjid blast in Ajmer, police said here.

He was identified as Khushibur Rehman, who was working as a madrasa teacher in Churu district of Rajasthan, police sources said.

He was apprehended at his ancestral village, Thakurgunti under Mehraab police station area in the Godda district.

Ajmer secret police handed him over to the Special Investigation Team probing the Ajmer bomb blast, however, police refused to divulge any further information in the case.

According to sources, Khushibur Rehman was associated with the Devbandi community and alleged to have had links with the Lashkar-e-Toiba.

Ajmer, Oct 26: A person was arrested today from Godda district of Jharkhand in connection with the blast at the dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti on October 11 that killed two persons. He was identified as Khushibur Rehman, who was working as a madrasa teacher in Churu district of Rajasthan, police sources said. He was apprehended at his ancestral village, Thakurgunti under Mehraab police station area in the Godda district. Ajmer police handed him over to the Special Investigation Team probing.....

Putin in Portugal for EU-Russia summit

LISBON, Oct 25 (Reuters) Russian President Vladimir Putin hopes for a friendly summit with the European Union tomorrow but is sticking to long-held tough positions on Iran and Kosovo. ''On many (international) issues our positions are close,'' Putin said after meeting Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva, whose country will host the EU-Russia summit.
