No orders issued to ban airing of Tehelka episode: EC

New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) The Election Commission(EC) today denied that it had ever issued orders to block airing of the Tehelka episode on Gujarat violence on any TV channel.

The clarification came in the wake of large scale complaints from viewers all over Gujarat that they were not able to watch the programme which was being telecast by some private channels under the heads of ''Tehelka episode of the 2002 Gujarat violence''.

AIMIM demands Narendra Modi's arrest, burns his effigy

Hyderabad, Oct 26 (UNI) The All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) today demanded that the Centre arrest Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for encouraging the VHP and Bajrang Dal leaders to kill Muslims during the 2002 Gujarat communal carnage, as exposed by Tehelka. Speaking to newspersons here after participating in a rally organised by the party in protest against the Modi Government, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, MP, demanded that the Centre immediately arrest Mr Modi and the National Human Rights.....

Southern Command-A lifts Army Adventure Challenge Cup

Dehradun, Oct 26 (UNI) Southern Command-A Team today lifted the 2007 edition of the Army Adventure Challenge Cup at Rishikesh. The champion team completed 9 km Cycling, 11 km marathon and 16 km river rafting in 2 hrs 4 minutes. Close to the Champions were Southern Command-C team in the second spot with the timing of 2 hrs 5 minutes. Sepoy Vinod and Sepoy G Ramesh of Southern Command-A recieved the Best cyclist and Best runner award respectively. Chief guest.....

Brett Lee looking forward to Indian challenge

Sydney, Oct 26 (UNI) After getting thrashed in the previous encounter, when India tour 'Down Under,' fast bowler Brett Lee says he had ''forgotten'' that and is looking forward to take up the mantle of leading the bowling attack in the series. In that series (2003/04) five Indian batsman -- Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag -- averaged more than 50 runs. The series though ended in a draw. Two of Austraia's once-in-a-generation bowlers were missing.....
