NABARD's annual sports meet from October 28 to November 1

Mumbai, Oct 26 (UNI) Nabotsav, the annual sports meet of NABARD, will be held at the Shahaji Raje Sports Complex here from October 28 to November 1.

Nabotsav will see 352 sportspersons from various regional offices of NABARD from all over India, vying for top honours, a release issued here today said.

The sports meet will see competition being held in different disciplines like cricket, carrom, chess, badminton and table tennis.

S K Mitra, executive director of NABARD, will inaugurate the meet on October 28, the release added.

Nikita and others booked for assaulting mediapersons

Ludhiana, Oct 26 (UNI) The police today booked Russian wrestler Nikita and others under various charges including criminal conspiracy obstructing from duty, beating, abusing, defaming and threatening mediapersons last evening. The FIR was registered in Ludhiana under sections 295, 323, 334, 336, 341, 294,500, 504, 506 and, 120 of the IPC on the complaint of local mediapersons, police sources said. COLOMBO, Oct 26 (Reuters) Sri Lanka suspended five radio stations today, accusing them of airing a false broadcast about a Tamil Tiger rebel attack on a village in the far south. KARACHI, Oct 26 (Reuters) Pakistani police released a photograph of the reconstructed face of a second man suspected to have been involved in a suicide attack on former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto that killed 139 people, police said today. A photograph of the head of the first suspect was released a day after the attack on Bhutto's procession in Karachi on October 19, following her return from eight years of self-imposed exile. Bhutto is planning to visit her constituency at Larkana.....
