Moily asks BJP to take action on Modi in Godhra issue

Hyderabad, Oct 26 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary in charge of party affairs in Andhra Pradesh, M Veerappa Moily today asked the BJP to take stern action on Gujarat Chief Minister Narender Modi for his alleged involvement in Godhra carnage.

Addressing a press conference at party headquarters here, he said the Godhra carnage was a shame on the entire country.

He also recalled former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee's public statement to this effect.

No orders issued to ban airing of Tehelka episode: EC

New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) The Election Commission(EC) today denied that it had ever issued orders to block airing of the Tehelka episode on Gujarat violence on any TV channel. The clarification came in the wake of large scale complaints from viewers all over Gujarat that they were not able to watch the programme which was being telecast by some private channels under the heads of ''Tehelka episode of the 2002 Gujarat violence''. Cong demands 'white paper' on implementation of central schemes

Lucknow, Oct 26 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Congress today demanded a 'white paper' on the implementation of various centrally-sponsored schemes in the state. Addressing media persons here, UP Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi said while the Bahujan Samaj Party government was seeking central aid, the government had failed to utilise the funds alloted to it by the Union government under various heads.
