Low pressure area likely over South East Bay of Bengal in 48 hrs

Hyderabad, Oct 26 (UNI) A low pressure area is likely to form over South East Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood during next 48 hours, increasing further chances for rainfall in Andhra Pradesh.

Under its influence, isolated heavy rain was likely to occur in the districts of Nellore and Prakasam of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Chittoor, Kadapa and Anantapur of Rayalaseema during the period, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.

North East monsoon had been vigorous over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and active over Rayalaseema in the last 24 hours.

Dry weather previaled over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the weather office said.

Moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers were likely to occur at many places over Rayalaseema and in the districts of Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur and Krishna, according to IMD officials.

Mainly dry weather would prevail over Telangana and in the remaining districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Venkatagiri Town and Rapur recorded heavy rainfall of 10 and eight cm, respectively.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm were at Gudur, Rayachoty six each, Udayagiri five, Kavali, Srikalahasti four each, Tirupati Airport, Rajampet, Satyavedu, Vinjamur three each, Nellore, Atmakur, Lakkireddipalli, Pulivendala, Vempalli, Pakala and Puttur two each.

Sanctions could harm Iran ties with UN nuclear body

Negotiators losing hope of Doha trade deal in 2007
