'Laughter Challenge' participant stopped at airport


Mumbai, Oct 25: Laughter Challenge-III, participant Kuldeep Dube was prevented from boarding the Delhi-Mumbai flight TT-308 of the Kingfisher Airlines at Delhi airport today.

Mr Dube was flying to Mumbai to attend a show, which was slated for 1630 hrs here today.

While the Airline claims that the guest was not allowed by the personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which handles airport security, as he was completely 'drunk', Mr Dube alleged that he was denied boarding for daring to ask for a Hindi newspaper at the airport.

''It all happened when I asked for a Hindi newspaper from one of the ground staff members at the airport. But to my utter shock and disbelief, she curtly told me that they don't keep Hindi newspapers.

When I asked for the reason, she plainly replied that they did not require it. Not only this, she also accused me of misbehaving with her and called the manager who, without knowing my version, pronounced the judgement that he will not allow me to board the aircraft,'' Mr Dube told UNI

Bird flu spreads to new areas in Assam

Kamrup (Assam), Dec 6: With a fresh outbreak of bird flu in poultry being detected in Assam, authorities are prepared to start the culling of thousands of chickens.Reports say the virus has spread to the districts of Barpeta and Nalbari from Hajo in Kamrup District, where it was first reported. Samples were sent to laboratories in Bhopal and have tested positive for H5N1 avian influenza.The State Government has ordered culling operations and culling officers have already started going.....
