Japan Sept nationwide core CPI -0.1 pct yr/yr

TOKYO, Oct 26 (Reuters) Japanese core consumer prices fell 0.1 percent in September from a year earlier, marking the eighth straight month of annual declines and matching economists' consensus forecast, government data showed on Friday.

In the Tokyo area, the core consumer price index (CPI), which excludes volatile fresh food prices, was unchanged at 0.0 percent in October compared with a year earlier, against the consensus forecast of a flat reading.

The government announces Tokyo area figures a month before the nationwide figures.

US asks Colombia to extradite paramilitary warlord

BOGOTA, Oct 26 (Reuters) US authorities have asked Colombia to extradite a paramilitary chief wanted on drug charges after the government said he violated a peace deal with President Alvaro Uribe, the foreign ministry said. Four more found dead in California wildfires

Los Angeles, Oct 26: Border patrol agents discovered four charred bodies in rugged mountains near the Mexican border, bringing the probable death toll from California's wildfires to 12, even as firefighters gained the upper hand in their five-day battle. Agents found the burned remains of three males and a female in the mountains east of San Diego, about 16 km west of the Mexican border town of Tecate.
