Hearing on NEC Vision Document in Kohima

Kohima, Oct 26 (UNI) A one-day public hearing on 'Vision Document 2020' of the North Eastern Council (NEC) will be held at the Zonal Council Hall here on November five.

In a release issued by Nagaland Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner Lalthara here today NEC member P P Shrivastava would attend the meeting along with his officials.

Mr Shrivastava had invited all interested persons to submit their written comments and suggestions in the hearings.

The NEC had prepared the document in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi and now was seeking opinions and suggestions of the people of the NE states to implement the vision in the region.

French strike cost Paris region 150 mln euros -report

PARIS, Oct 26 (Reuters) Last week's strike by transport and power workers cost businesses and workers in the Paris region 150 million euros, according to an internal report by the French economy ministry quoted in a newspaper today. The October 18 strike, over President Nicolas Sarkozy's planned reform of generous pensions that are given to a minority of public sector workers, caused widespread disruption to the region's transport system. Karachi blasts: 2nd attack was suicide bombing

Karachi, Oct 26: The bomb disposal unit of the Karachi Police has concluded that the second attack on the motorcade of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on October 18 was a suicide bombing. The conclusion is contained in a report submitted by the bomb disposal unit on Thursday to the Additional Inspector-General Special Branch, Babar Khattak. The report describes the first bomb as an IED (improvised explosive device) adding around 12kg of plastic explosive and RDX were used in the second bombing.....
