FIR against Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies

Ambala, Oct 26 (UNI) An FIR has been filed against suspended Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies Rajinder Singh Dhanda for wrongful disbursement and misappropriation of loans amounting to Rs 5.34 crore while working as Ambala Central Cooperative Bank managing director.

The FIR against Dhanda was lodged by Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Shayin for the wrongful disbursement and misappropriation of the loans made between August six 2005 to February 27, 2007 The FIR alleged that Dhanda disbursed the loans for purchase of land without consulting the general manager of bank who was the sanctioning authority. He bypassed the resolution of the working committee of 1997 and granted loans to undeserving people in utter violation of the rules.

Dhanda was also found to have violated the guidelines and policies of the National Bank for Agriculture Rural Development (NABARD) in sanctioning the loan for purchase of land.

He was also found guilty of sanctioning the loans to family members like husband, wife, father and son.

He also committed irregularities in sanctioning loans for purchase of land which was already pledged with other banks.

Scholarship scam: MP govt suspends 15

Bhopal, Oct 26 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government has suspended a principal and 14 other government servants with immediate effect in the wake of a scholarship scam at Indore's Government Post-Graduate Arts and Commerce College, official sources said today. The accused forged scholarship-linked documents and misused the money. A joint departmental inquiry was initiated. The accused were R K Khare, Kusumlata Shrivastav, Suneeta Malviya, Leela Dhooldhoy, Vimla Jain, Shankarlal Makwana, Anil Laad, Narendra S, Nutan Joshi, Kamini Shivhare, Surendra Goyal, Suneeta.....

Biz bigwigs lavish praise on MP CM

Indore, Oct 26 (UNI) Business magnates attending a two-day Global Investors' Meet -- that got underway in Madhya Pradesh's commercial capital today -- showered praise on Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for taking the state onto the path of industrialisation. Four women run over and killed by train

Khagaria, Oct 26 (UNI) Four women were killed after being run over by a rail engine at Khagaria junction of Sonepur division under East Central Railway today. Railway sources said four women were crushed to death by the engine when they were selling green vegetables on track-side near Khagaria junction. The engine was on its way to Katihar from Barauni. The deceased had not been identified as yet, sources added. UNI.....
