FIR against Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies

Ambala, Oct 26 (UNI) An FIR has been filed against suspended Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Rajinder Singh Dhanda for wrongful disbursement and misappropriation of loans amounting to Rs 5.34 crore while working as Ambala Central Cooperative Bank managing director.

The FIR against Dhanda was lodged by Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Shayin for the wrongful disbursement and misappropriation of the loans made between August 6 2005 to February 27, 2007 The FIR alleged that Dhanda disbursed the loans for purchase of land without consulting the general manager of bank who was the sanctioning authority. He bypassed the resolution of the working committee of 1997 and granted loans to undeserving people in utter violation of the rules.

Dhanda was further found to have violated the guidelines and policies of the National Bank for Agriculture Rural Development (NABARD) in sanctioning the loan for purchase of land.

He was also found guilty of sanctioning the loans to family members like husband, wife, father and son.

He further committed irregularities in sanctioning loans for purchase of land which was already pledged with other banks.

Online ticketing to clock 271% growth, reach $2 billion in revenue

New Delhi, Oct 26 (UNI) With IATA setting a deadline of 2008 to introduce e-ticketing across the globe, the ubiquity of e-tickets in India has increased manifold, clocking growths of over 271 per cent to become a two billion dollar revenue sector.
