Ex-gratia for militancy cases in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 26 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned an ex-gratia relief in favour of 17 militancy-related cases in the newly-created hill district of Shopian, an official spokesman said today.

He said the district screening committee, which met under the chairmanship of the district development commissioner at Shopian, sanctioned an ex-gratia relief of Rs 7.27 lakh in favour of 17 militancy-related cases.

These included two death cases, the spokesman added.

New Delhi, Oct 26: Federal Bank today said the company's net profit rose by 37.2 per cent to Rs 95.33 crore for the quarter ended September 30, as compared to Rs 69.46 crore for the corresponding period a year ago. Total Income of the company also increased by 33.2 per cent to Rs Rs 675.06 crore for the quarter, as compared to Rs 506.32 crore for the same period in 2006, a statement said. Kohima, Oct 26: The strength of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) coalition has reduced to 36 from the 60-member Assembly following the withdrawal of support by JD(U) legislator Deo Nukhu.
