Ex-gratia for militancy cases in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 26 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned an ex-gratia relief in favour of 17 militancy-related cases in the newly-created hill district of Shopian, an official spokesman said today.

He said the district screening committee, which met under the chairmanship of the district development commissioner at Shopian, sanctioned an ex-gratia relief of Rs 7.27 lakh in favour of 17 militancy-related cases.

These included two death cases, the spokesman added.

Kohima, Oct 26: The strength of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) coalition has reduced to 36 from the 60-member Assembly following the withdrawal of support by JD(U) legislator Deo Nukhu. Recently, the Assembly had reduced to 56 following the resignation of four Nagaland Peoples' Front (NPF) legislators. Lahore, Oct 26 (UNI) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially asked BCCI to provide more visas to its nationals for its upcoming tour to India starting from next month.
