Emkay Share and Stock Brokers Ltd Q2 income up by 157 pc

Mumbai, Oct 26 (UNI) Emkay Share&Stock Brokers Limited has recorded a total Income of Rs 32.41 Crore in the second quarter of the current financial year 2007-08 as against Rs 12.60 Crore for the corresponding second quarter of the previous financial year, recording an increase of 157 per cent.

The Profits After Tax for the second quarter was Rs 6.88 Crore as against Rs 2.63 Crore for the corresponding second quarter of the previous financial year, recording an increase of 161 per cent.

During this quarter, the Company received Registration from SEBI to act as a Merchant Banker Category I.

Emkay Insurance Brokers Limited, a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Company, has received license from IRDA to act as Direct Insurance Brokers, Emkay Share&Stock Brokers Limited, Mr Krishna Kumar Karwa Managing Director said in a statement here today.

Man, mother sentenced for abetting suicide

Vadodara, Oct 26 (UNI) A man and his mother were sentened to five years and three years jail terms respectively by a Vadodara fast track court here today for abetting the suicide of the former's wife.
