Congress will regain in lost assembly seats: Bishat

Nahan, Oct 26 (UNI) The Congress will regain the assembly seats in the coming elections, which were lost last time due to presence of rebel candidates and fielding of weak nominees, said Congress observer for Sirmour district Virender Singh Bishat at Congress Bhawan here today.

"Mr Bishat said indiscipline in party would not be tolerated and stern action would be taken against the rebel candidates." He said every party member had the right to apply for the party ticket and final decision of official candidate would be decided by high command.

Those who left the party earlier would be welcomed back in case they decided to strengthen the party, he said.

Mr Bishat said youths, women, senior citizens would be provided suitable places while recommending party tickets in Sirmour district.

He also added that so far 20 applications for five assembly seats of the district had been received.

FIR against Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies

Ambala, Oct 26 (UNI) An FIR has been filed against suspended Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Rajinder Singh Dhanda for wrongful disbursement and misappropriation of loans amounting to Rs 5.34 crore while working as Ambala Central Cooperative Bank managing director. The FIR against Dhanda was lodged by Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Shayin for the wrongful disbursement and misappropriation of the loans made between August 6 2005 to February 27, 2007 The FIR alleged that Dhanda disbursed the loans for purchase of land.....

Rubber growers prefer RRII-400 series clones

Kottayam, Oct 26 (UNI) Rubber growers, who participated in a feed back seminar at the Rubber Research Institute of India (RRII) here today, asserted that the recently released 400 series Rubber clones were superior to RRII 105, in growth and yield. Many of the growers, encouraged by their experience would now switch over to the new variety. Centre has nothing to do with local issues on SEZ

Panaji, Oct 26 (UNI) Minister of Trade and Commerce Kamal Nath today said the Centre has nothing to do with the local issues or forces opposing the establishment of Special Economic Zones(SEZ's) but is committed to helping Goa with special packages for infrastructure development. Interacting with media persons on the sidelines of the Second Ministerial Council meeting of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement(APTA) held in South Goa, Mr Nath said chief minister Digambar Kamat had discussed with him about the SEZ issue.....
