Hyderabad, Oct 26 (UNI) Refuting reports of dissidence in the party, All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary in charge of party affairs in Andhra Pradesh M Veerappa Moily today said the Andhra Pradesh Government and the party in the State were working with utmost coordination.
Addressing a press conference after attending the Party Coordination committee meeting at party headquarters 'Gandhi Bhavan' here, he said the Government and the party wings have maintained close relations in taking up developmental activities, benefiting poor people.
He said there was no dissidence in the party and all the MLAs, MPs and Ministers were working together. '' The Congress is not a regional party. It is a democratic party and everything will be discussed in the party forum. There is accountability in the party,'' he said.
Mr Moily further said the party and the Government should work in tandem and there should not be any distance between the two wings.
Asked about the Left parties' agitation demanding house sites for the poor, he said there was no meaning in the stir when the Government was constructing houses for poor people in addition to providing land to landless poor in the State.
He said the State Government had distributed 4.5 lakh acres of land to the landless agricultural labourers and proposed to distribute another one and a half lakh acres of land in future.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, in charge PCC President G S Rao, State Minister Mohd Shabbir Ali, party leaders P Narasa Reddy, P Venkata Rao and G Venkataswamy also attended the meeting.
