All India Tolani Grand Prix bridge tourney from tomorrow

Mumbai, Oct 26 (UNI) The cream of the country's bridge talent will be on view at the four-day All India Tolani Grand Prix 2007, commencing tomorrow at a city Hotel.

More than 50 teams will be seen in action in the prestigious tournament, with a prize money of Rs five lakh, a release issued here today said.

The tourney assumes significance as it will act as a selection trial for the 2008 world event. The tournament will be netcast live from quarter-finals onwards, the release added.

Seized Elton photo judged not indecent

LONDON, Oct 26 (Reuters) A photograph owned by Elton John which was seized by police at a gallery as part of a child pornography probe is not an indecent image, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said today. Putin scoffs at EU fears over Russian investment

MAFRA, Portugal, Oct 26 (Reuters) Russian President Vladimir Putin took a swipe today at European Union plans to limit foreign investment in its energy networks. Gibilisco's two-year doping ban reinstated

ROME, Oct 26 (Reuters) Former pole vault world champion Giuseppe Gibilisco must serve a two-year doping ban despite winning an earlier appeal, a sporting judge said today. Gibilisco, who won gold at the 2003 worlds in Paris and bronze at the Athens Olympics a year later, was initially banned in July by the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) after a request from the country's anti-doping prosecutor. However, the 28-year-old won an appeal in September with a FIDAL spokesman saying the ban had.....
