All India Tolani Grand Prix bridge tourney from tomorrow

Mumbai, Oct 26 (UNI) The cream of the country's bridge talent will be on view at the four-day All India Tolani Grand Prix 2007, commencing tomorrow at a city Hotel.

More than 50 teams will be seen in action in the prestigious tournament, with a prize money of Rs five lakh, a release issued here today said.

The tourney assumes significance as it will act as a selection trial for the 2008 world event. The tournament will be netcast live from quarter-finals onwards, the release added.

COLOMBO, Oct 26 (Reuters) Certain areas of Sri Lankan air space are vulnerable, an official said today, four days after Tamil Tiger rebels mounted their biggest-ever operation against a government airbase. Air Force Commander Roshan Goonetileke told journalists on Friday it will take some time to establish an air defence system for Sri Lanka and, until that happens, certain areas are vulnerable to attacks by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. Seized Elton photo judged not indecent

ROME, Oct 26 (Reuters) Former pole vault world champion Giuseppe Gibilisco must serve a two-year doping ban despite winning an earlier appeal, a sporting judge said today. Gibilisco, who won gold at the 2003 worlds in Paris and bronze at the Athens Olympics a year later, was initially banned in July by the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) after a request from the country's anti-doping prosecutor.
