Hyderabad, Oct 26 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Major Industries Minister Geeta Reddy today announced allocation of 90 acres of land in three areas in Medak district for Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) to set up exclusive industrial estates for women.
Inaugurating the three-day Trade Carnival 2007, she said 30 acres of land had been allocated in Automobile Park in Toopran Mandal, 30 acres in Biotechnology Park in Karakapatla village in Mulugu Mandal and another 30 acres in Kucharam in Toopran mandal.
Ms Reedy said, henceforth, 10 per cent of the land in all the 172 industrial parks in the state would be reserved for women entrepreneurs. She urged them to create awareness among corporate women to take advantage of this initiative.
About 180 exhibitors showcased their products in fashionware, handicrafts, jewellery, household goods, toy and candle makers.
Women entrepreneurs in career counselling, medical transcription, home and house keeping and fashion designing participated in the meet.
