Bangalore, Oct 13: Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader B S Yediyurappa today urged all the political parties to prefer for elections to the State Assembly and get fresh mandate.
Addressing newsmen here today he said his party was for seeking fresh mandate and other political parties should not shy away from going before people to form a popular government, he felt.
Explaining that there was no difference of opinion in State BJP on the issue of going for fresh elections Mr Yediyurappa accused JD(S) leader and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy of trying to sow the seeds of suspicion among BJP leaders by leaking selected context of discussions held between H D Deve Gowda and BJP Karnataka in charge Yashwanth Sinha on sharing of power.
Referring to Kumaraswamy's charges that Yashwanth Sinha was only interested in roping in Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda to NDA and seeking his assurance on extending support to L K Advani's candidature for next Prime Minister of the country "What was wrong in it" he shot back.
Referring to Kumaraswamy's charge that he had tried to divide the party and join JD(S) earlier "For that I have already repented" and the matter was a closed chapter now, he said.
Expressing confidence that party would form next government on its own strength if elections were held Mr Yediyurappa challenged Congress party to prevail upon the centre to go for immediate elections.
