Yedi asks Kumaraswamy to extend support to BJP

Shimoga, Karnataka, Oct 10:  Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today asked former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to extend unconditional outside support to the BJP to form a government, if he regretted not keeping his promise on power transfer.

Ruling out meeting Mr Kumaraswamy in this regard, Mr Yediyurappa told newspersons here that '' the BJP will not approach JD(S) leaders.

Since they have cheated by not transferring the power to the BJP as agreed, they (JD-S) should come forward to extend outside support,'' he added.

Extending an open invitation to JD(S) legislators, who were interested to join the BJP, Mr Yediyurappa asked them to come forward with the true intention of upkeeping the democratic values.

Mr Yediyurappa ruled out the possibility of his party seeking support of the Congress to form a government, as the Assembly was kept in suspended animation by the President.

''Congress, which was seeking dissolution of the Assembly during the BJP-JD(S) rule, should face the election. They should not indulge in any sort of horse trading or other means to split any party for coming to power,'' he said.

He said the people of Karnataka would not pardon Mr Kumaraswamy and his father, JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda, for denying power to the BJP.
