Yediyurappa rules out re-alliance with JD(S)

Bangalore, Oct 9 (UNI) Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa today ruled out any rapprochement with former coalition partner Janata Dal (Secular), which ''refused to honour'' the political pact entered with the BJP.

Mr Yediyurappa, who cut short his party's 'Dharma Yudha' against JD(S) last evening amidst rumours of a reconcilliation between the two allies, told newspersons here that the party was prepared to face mid-term polls and come to power on its own strength.

He said the party would explain to the people the betrayal of the JD(S) and the injustice meted out to it. The anti-JD(S) campaign, which took off from Tumkur yesterday, would continue and public meetings have been organised in all towns and villages in Karnataka.

About the unhappiness expressed by some JD(S) Legislators on not handing over power to the BJP as promised, he said they would be invited to join his party. ''They would be accommodated in the party suitably,'' Mr Yediyurappa added.

State BJP president D V Sadananda Gowda, criticised both former Prime Minister and JD(S) president H D Deve Gowda and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for ditching the BJP after completing first 20 months in power. ''People would teach a bitter lesson to them,'' he added.
