Terror threat from al-Qaeda


Nasik, Oct 8 2007: Security has been beefed up in all religious areas following threats from international terrorist group Al-Qaeda.

The security was stepped up at places of religious importance after a handwritten note was received by the authorities at the Shridi temple of Nasik, reportedly by an Islamic terrorist group to blow up the temple. Apart from this, the intelligence agencies have inputs stating supposed threats to spread terror at the Haridwar.

India, Pak foreign secretaries begin 2-day talks

Islamabad, Mar 13: Top Indian and Pakistani diplomats began two-day talks in Islamabad today focusing on key issues of Kashmir, peace and security and terrorism. Foreign secretary Shiv Shankar Menon and his Pakistani counterpart Riaz Muhammad Khan are leading their respective delegations at the meeting, which will also look into the issues of visa liberalisation and ways to promote strategic restraint regime in nuclear and conventional fields. The talks will mark commencement of the fourth round.....
