India needs more planes


New Delhi, Oct 07 2007 : The Indian Aviation sector is certainly looking up! According to the outlook released by European aircraft major Airbus India will need over 1,000 new planes over the next 20 years.

Meanwhile, according to US aerospace giant Boeing, India would need 911 new commercial passenger aircraft worth $86 billion in the same period. India's rapid economic expansion in recent years, coupled with policies to break the monopoly of state-run companies in the airline sector has driven the demand for air travel and new planes.

Reliance Industries invests in Deccan 360

Mumbai, Apr 16: Announcing its strategic investment in the cargo airline Deccan 360, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) on Friday, Apr 16 stepped into the aviation sector.The Mukesh-Ambani led company said that a wholly-owned subsidiary will be providing 'growth and capital' for the Captain Gopinath-founded cargo airline.Speaking on the investment, RIL's chairman Mukesh Ambani said,"We believe that our collaboration with Deccan 360 will see a transformation in the logistics domain in India."RIL's investment would help Deccan 360.....
