UPA-Left panel on nuclear deal holds 4th meeting

New Delhi, Oct 9: The UPA-Left panel on the Indo-US nuclear deal held its fourth meeting here today, amid indications that the two sides, despite widening differences, would still remain engaged to make last ditch attempts to end the logjam over the pact.

Briefing reporters after the two-and-a-half hour meeting, Committee Convener and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said the two sides shared their perception on various aspects of the deal.

He said discussions were also initiated on the implications of the deal on the country's foreign policy and security cooperation.

The next meeting of the panel would be held on October 22, he said. Earlier, the panel's next meeting was slated to be held on October 14.
