Reliance launches 'Express Life' insurance scheme

Chandigarh, Oct 9 (UNI) Reliance Life Insurance Company Ltd, today launched 'Express Life' - an innovative and customer friendly service that assures fastest way of getting life insurance cover.

With this, Reliance Life Insurance becomes the first Life Insurance player in the country to offer this novel life insurance process to its customers for a cover of upto Rs 10 lakh. This is the first of its kind initiative in the sector that would offer life insurance cover almost instantly to customers, without the hassles of long waiting period, follow-ups and medical checkups.

Speaking on the launch of Express Life here, Mr P Nandagopal, CEO, Reliance Life Insurance Company Ltd, said, ''This unique process will redefine the way insurance is bought and sold in India.

Express Life is a testimony of our constant endeavor to delight our customers with innovative and need based solutions promptly''.

Customers who fall between the age group of 18 to 45 years and fulfill the qualification criteria, can avail the benefits of, 'Express Life' service. It is customer friendly service wherein on submission of the duly filled application form, mandatory documents and the requisite premium cheque, customers are assured commencement of life insurance cover in three working days. The letter and the policy kit are handed to the customer over the counter.

The company also issued its first policy under the ''Express Life'' initiative to its first customer in Chandigarh today. The Express Life service is available under the Reliance Life Insurance Automatic Investment Plan, Money Guarantee Plan, Market Return Plan and Golden Years Plan.

Cigerette packets to carry pictures of cancers, death from Dec 1

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Smokers puffing cigerettes would now see pictures of cancerous growth and other harmful impact the smoke would have on their's as well as on other passive smokers' health, including children who may have to face an untimely, slow and painful death. However, in view of the protest against the use of skull and crossbones as warning on the cigrette packets, the Government has decided to replace them with pictorial warnings of painful death and revolting pictures.....

BBC to cut down more than 2000 jobs

London, Oct 9 (UNI) The BBC is going to downsize at least 12 per cent of its workforce, leaving more than 2000 people jobless, a report said today. The decision was made following the bulk of losses in the factual programming that the company had to bear. The total number of job losses could approach 2,800 as the BBC Director General Mark Thompson attempts to plug a two billion pounds budget shortfall.
