Opposition to oppose flawed policy of Government: KC

Kottayam, Oct 9 (UNI) Kerala Congress leader K M Mani today criticised the educational policy of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government in the State.

Talking to newspersons here, after the 44th Founding Day celebration of the Kerala Congress, he said the flawed education policy of the LDF government would be opposed with the cooperation of like-minded people and parties.

Mr Mani alleged that by introducing unreasonable control the Government, was trying to politicise the education sector. The aim of the terms of reference of the 'KER Reforms Commission' was to destroy the private sector, he added.

He alleged that the Government's direction to reconstruct all the school buildings as per the pre Kerala Education Rules (KER) was to create problems in the education sector.

Mayawati shows sympathy towards dismissed cops, suspended IPS

Lucknow, Oct 9 (UNI) In a major climbdown, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati today said that she has full sympathy with the dismissed cops and the suspended police officials in connection with the police recruitment scam. Addressing a rally here, Ms Mayawati said her governemnt had to take tough decisions to nail the culprits and to prevent such things in the future. ''I can only assure that those dismissed cops, who are elegible, would be given priority in state government jobs,''.....
