Lok Adalats to be held at district-level in Haryana

Chandigarh, Oct 9 (UNI) The Haryana State Legal Services Authority has decided to organise Lok Adalats at various districts of the State, Member Secretary of the Authority said.

Efforts would be made to settle maximum number of cases in these adalats by liaisoning with the leading banks, he said adding that other cases than bank loans would also be settled in these adalats.

He said that to settle the cases, the Authority has decided to hold lok adalats at Panchkula, Rohtak, Karnal and Panipat on October 13, Labour Courts, Gurgaon (I and II) and Rohtak on October 19, Narnaul, Meham(Rohtak) and Special Lok Adalat at Mahendragarh (Narnaul) on October 20 and Palwal(Faridabad) and Siwani(Bhiwani) on October 27.

He said that similarly lok adalats would be set up at Bahadurgarh (Jhajjar), Fatehabad, Tohana and Ratia on November 3, Bhiwani, Hisar, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, karnal, Hansi, Sonipat, Gohana and Ganaur on November 17, Labour Court, Panipat on November 21, Siwani (Bhiwani) on November 29 and Labour Court, Hisar on November 30.

He said that Lok Adalats would also be set up at Hansi(Hisar), Bank Lok Adalat and Special Lok Adalat of Motor Vehicle Act and petty criminal cases, Jagadhari on December 1, Labour Courts, Gurgaon-I and II on December 7, Ambala, Gurgaon, Jind, Jhajjar, Rewari, Safidon(Jind), Narwana(Jind), Kosli(Rewari), Bahadurgarh(Jhajjar) and Jagadhri on December 8, Labour Court, Faridabad (I, II and III) on December 13, Labour Court, Rohtak on December 14, Faridabad, Rohtak, Sirsa, Meham(Rohtak) on December 15, Siwani(Bhiwani) on December 21 and Palwal(Faridabad) on December 22.

BBC to cut down more than 2000 jobs

Mob fury: Three thiefs lynched by villagers in Palamu

Daltonganj, Oct 9 (UNI) In yet another instance of mob justice, three people were lynched by residents of Koiridih village in Jharkhand late last night after they were caught stealing valuables from a house. Police today said four people attempting to steal valuables from one Naniak Mahto in this village under Haidarnagar police station in Palamu district were beaten up by the villagers. No breather for Dara Singh; SC turns down bail plea

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) The Supreme Court today dismissed the bail plea of Dara Singh, convicted for burning alive Australian Missionary Graham Stains and his two minor sons. Chamber Judge Justice Arijit Pasayat declined to grant bail to Dara in view of the gravity of his offence. Dara Singh, who had burnt alive Stains and his two sons in 1997 at Manoharpur in Orissa, was sentenced to death by the trial court which was later reduced to life imprisonment.....
