Kavveri telecom acquires technology,patent for base station antennas

Bangalore Oct 9 (UNI) Leading manufacturer of antennas and Radio Frequency (RF) products for the wireless Industry in India, Kavveri Telecom Products Ltd, today announced acquisition of technology, patent and IPR of Base station antenna of erstwhile Sigma Wireless, Ireland from PCTEL, Chicago.

The company was in the news last year when it acquired two North American Companies, Til-Tek and DCI, leaders in antennas, RF products and filters, has now strengthened its hold in the area with the latest acquisition, the company said in a release here today.

Kavveri manufactures Base Station Antennas and Accessories for use by both GSM and CDMA operators. It also manufactured antennas for use in In-Building solutions (IBS), Specialised Antennas for use by the Defence Sector and Antennas for WiMAX at its facilities in Bangalore. Its focus on quality products has also enabled Kavveri to become the most favored vendor for various RF products and Antennas for many pan India GSM/CDMA operators and OEMs.

The latest acquisition gave Kavveri access to customers and vendors of Sigma Wireless in Europe. The acquisition also brought into Kavveri's fold seven international patents.

Tea auction sees good demand by exporters

Kolkata, Oct 9 (UNI) The tea auction held here from Ocober 1-4 saw good demand by exporters, including Major Blender and UK Coninent. A Kolkata Brokers' Joint Statistics department release here today said that 72,170 packages containing 22,03,966 kgs CTC tea was auctioned in which Tata Tea did selective buying and Western India was active on liquoring teas while Major Blender did some inquiry on bolder brokens and fannings. 2 AR jawans killed, 2 injured by own troops

Imphal, Oct 9 (UNI) Two jawans of 21 Assam Rifles were killed and two others injured by their own troops today at Umathel, Kakching Khunou, Thoubal district. The Assam Rifles PRO said seven columns of Assam Rifles jawans were engaged in an operation at Kakching Khunou and Umathel where the incident occurred. All the seven columns were moving out in different directions when by mistake two columns resorted to firing at each other. Two jawans were killed and two others injured......
