Gateway TechnoLabs announces merger with NINtec

Ahmedabad, Oct 9 (UNI) Ahmedabad-based Gateway TechnoLabs today announced merger with NINtec B.V of Netherlands.

''It is a significant step towards further consolidation of our business and services in Europe, while gaining a firm foothold in Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands&Luxembourg),'' said company managing director Niraj Gemawat.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Mr Gemawat said, ''Gateway TechnoLabs is one of the few mid-size technology companies from India to venture into non-English speaking countries of the European Union. Today Gateway TechnoLabs does over 50 per cent of its business from these markets and the rest is from US and other parts of world.'' Mr Gemawat said in recent past, Gateway TechnoLabs had set up JVs in Sweden and Denmark.

NINtec is a Dutch company based in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands, and has offices around the world specialising in software development work utilising global delivery model for clients across the globe.

NINtec is a market leader in Benelux offering technology solutions to its clients for over eight years now, Mr Gemawat said.

NINtec director Vipin Moharir, speaking from Netherlands via video conferencing, said, ''This merger is actually a merger of synergies and strengths of two organisations and professionals.

NINtec is very strategically poised in the European market with major corporates and mid-corporates as long-term clients. Our activities in Business Process Outsourcing (Media) and our products division will bring in added advantage in this merger and allow us to leverage our position in EU.'' ''Gateway's merger with NINtec will open new avenues of employment for IT professionals. We now hope to grow into a 1200 plus organisation by the end of this fiscal year,'' said Gateway TechnoLabs joint managing director Indrajit Mitra.

Father and aunt booked for attempt to kill child

Hisar, Oct 9 (UNI) The police has booked the father and aunt of the five-year-old starved child rescued by social workers here recently, on charges of ''attempt to kill'' the boy. Bhim Singh, father and Dhapa Devi, aunt of Ashwani, who were pushing the child to a ''slow death'' over past three years by denying him food, clothes and shelter, have been booked under section 307 for the alleged attempt to kill the child, sources here said. Gujarat industries need 'cleaner production': Patel

Ahmedabad, Oct 9 (UNI) Industries in Gujarat need to adopt 'cleaner production' techniques as an effective environmental tool, said Environment and Forests Minister Mangu Patel here today. Addressing a one-day national level workshop on 'Past Achievements in Cleaner Production and Future Strategies for its Acceleration Promotion', Mr Patel said 'cleaner production' as a tool will combat environmental pollution as opposed to more expensive end-of-pipe treatment technologies such as effluent treatment plants (ETP) and gaseous emission control systems. Parties yet to finalise the candidates for Mormugao Par by-election

Panaji, Oct 9 (UNI) All eyes are set on New Delhi where the main BJP and Congress leaderships have to announce respective candidates for the October 30 by-election to Mormugao Parliamentary Constituency in South Goa.
