Blast at weapons factory near Rome injures three

ROME, Oct 9 (Reuters) At least three people were injured today in an explosion at a weapons factory near Rome, police said. The cause of the blast was not immediately clear.

The plant at Colleferro, southeast of Rome, belongs to Simmel Defence, which manufactures ammunitions, explosives, missile warheads and rockets for the armed forces in Italy and abroad, according to the company's website.

LONDON, Oct 9 (Reuters) Britain's goods trade deficit with the rest of the world narrowed as expected in August as the value of exports rose to its highest level in a year, official statistics showed on Tuesday. HANOI, Oct 9 (Reuters) Prudential Plc , Britain's second-largest insurer, said it has opened consumer finance business in Vietnam, becoming the first foreign non-bank financial firm to tap one of Asia's fastest growing economies.
