BJP lambasts Cong over Ram sethu issue

Agra, Oct 9 (UNI) Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Rajnath Singh has charged the Congress with mishandling the Ram sethu issue and said the party would face the consequences in the coming Lok Sabha election.

Congress had hurt the sentiments of 'Rambhakts' and BJP would give it a befitting reply in the coming Lok Sabha election, Mr Singh said at the Janakpuri Mahotsava here yesterday.

The BJP president noted it was wrong to put to scientific test the existence of Ram sethu, which had its roots in the hearts of 'Rambhakts'.

''Ram sethu has its existence in the 'belief' and 'faith' of people and hence is free from any any political debate,'' he added.

About the party's electoral policy for the next Lok Sabha election, he said it will be decided in consultation of the senior BJP leaders.

Mr Singh along with MP Raj Babbar paid obeisance to lord Ram at Janak Mahal here before adressing the mahotsava.
