Asia Golf Industry Show to highlight golf course management

Chandigarh, Oct 9 (UNI) In consonance with the growing popularity and promising mega blast of golf in India, the Asia Golf Industry Show in Delhi on October 20 and 21 will be an occasion to know about the development and management of golf courses.

The GCS&MAI seminar 2007 will be the highlight of the program for the benefit of the developers, managers and green-keepers, according to Col K D Bagga, golf architect and consultant.

The participation of Asian Golf Course Owners Association and the Asia PGA in the Golf Show is an opportunity to get international buyers to get to know Indian products for them to take home. The expected footfall of more than 1,000 golfers including developers, managers of golf courses and landscapers will be great marketing bonanza, Col Bagga said here today.

In its continued pursuit for caring and sharing of knowledge, GCS&MAI have been arranging very high standard of learning through seminars. This year also, the learning package is three times big in content and quality and the seminar will be carried with the pomposity of international standards.

Managers and green-keepers from all the golf courses in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh are expected to attend the mega event, Col Bagga added.

The learning of warm season grasses, golf course maintenance, turf diseases and remedies, menace of weeds and their management will be highlighted at the Show. Participants will learn about environment and golf.

Experts and eminent speakers and research scholars in agronomy lead by Jeff Gambin, President of Australian Golf Course Association will discuss subjects related to golf and golf courses. The participants will be introduced to organic manure practices, bio-dynamic practices for the golf courses extolled by Dr Pancholi and Mr Mani, the cheese king.

Col S K Bhattacharya will lead the Indian contingent. The seminar will culminate into an open workshop to answer queries and questions on golf course development and management by a panel of experts.

South Korea may allow sale of corporate bond funds

SEOUL, Oct 9 (Reuters) South Korea may allow the sale of investment funds specialising in corporate bonds as part of efforts to boost the corporate bond market, a senior official at the financial regulatory agency said on Tuesday.
