11 bodies recovered ,24 missing following boat capsize

Dhaka, Oct 9 (UNI) Rescuers have recovered 11 bodies from yesterday's boat capsize in the Megna river, police said today.

The engine-propelled boat was carrying 50 people when it capsized after being caught in rough weather.

Search was still on for 24 others who went missing after the boat turned turtle due to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, a land depression formed over the Bay of Bengal triggered heavy rains in the city and other regions disrupting normal life.

Court grants bail to Lovely facing life in DM murder case

Patna, Oct 9 (UNI) Patna High Court today granted bail to Lovely Anand facing life imprisonment in connection with murder of the then District Magistrate of Gopalganj G Krishnaiya in 1994. MP: PWD engineer convicted in corruption case

Bhopal, Oct 9: A special court of Chhindwara has sentenced two years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 3,000 to Public Works department's Executive Engineer P L Patel for taking bribe from a contractor.
