Yatra.com, Barclays join hands to promote online travel booking

Mumbai, Oct 8 (UNI) Leading online travel portal Yatra.com and Barclayss Bank have announced a tieup to promote online travel booking using credit cards.

Speaking to the media, Kusal Roy, Head of Cards, India and Mauritius, Barclays Bank said, ''We want to push online travel business to another level through a value-centric approach.'' ''We feel this offer is at least three times better than the competition,'' added Dhruv Shringi, co-founder and CEO of Yatra.com Using Barclays credit card, customers can avail of a number of facilities and services. The cards will be issued without annual fee or subscription charges or any 'hidden charges', and will not be limited to travel but can also be used for other purchases and services.

Yatra.com has a market share of 35-36 per cent in the Rs 5,000 crore online travel industry.

Precious metals opens low

Mumbai, Oct 8 (UNI) Both the precious metals today resumed low as Silver slashed by Rs 60 per kg and gold by 25 per ten gm on lack of poor demand from ornament makers in view of bearish global advice, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said. Traders received a report from global market as Gold was flat on Monday, with trade thin due to holidays in Japan and the United States, and on caution ahead of US Federal Reserve minutes.....

Call money rates open flat at 6.00 per cent

Mumbai, Oct 8 (UNI) Inter-Bank Call money rates opened steady today at 6.00 per cent compared to its previous close at the local market, dealers said. Later the Call rates fluctuated between 6.00 to 6.10 per cent during the intra-day trade. The Call rates had closed at 6.10 per cent yesterday. The rates touched an intra-day high of 6.15 per cent and is currently trading at 6.05-6.10 per cent, dealers added. UNI.....

Tanishq to cross the 100-store mark by next year

Kolkata, Oct 8 (UNI) Tanishq, a Tata Enterprise Limited company, will cross the mark of 100 stores in the country by opening 10 more jewellery stores, including franchisee outlets, in Eastern India by 2008. Talking to UNI at the launch of a festive collection from Tanishq, company's Regional Business Manager Dwaipayan Sen said, '' To cater to the requisite needs of exclusive designs in the eastern region, the company has decided to open 10 more stores.''
