Two women committ suicide in Kangra

Dharamshala, Oct 8 (UNI) Two women committed suicide in two separate incidents in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh last evening, police sources said today.

Both the women drank pesticides at their respective residences in Gurkhari and Soura village of the district and died hour after being admitted to hospitals.

The sources said a 21-year-old woman, identified as Mala, a resident of village Gurkhari, married a year back drank pesticides at her residence last evening while the family members had gone to the field.

She was rushed to Kangra Civil Hospital and later referred to Dr RP Medical College and Hospital here where she died.

The sources said a case has been registered and were investigating, adding that her body was handed over to her relatives after a postmortem examination.

In the second case of suicide by drinking pesticides, Leela Devi, 55, of Soura village was rushed to a government hospital here after had drinking a pesticide like liquid.

The sources said the woman died hours after she was admitted to the hospital, adding that a case has been registered and investigations were on under Section 174 of the Cr PC.

HP waives stamp duty for farm loans

J'khand witnesses students' union election after 27 years

Ranchi, Oct 8 (UNI) The fate of about 1800 candidates remained sealed in ballot boxes after the much-hyped polling for students' unions at all colleges, under three univerties in Jharkhand, were held today after a gap of 27 years amid tight security. Uttar Pradesh: Man dies of penury

Mahoba, Oct 9: Failing to get medical aid due to alleged penury, a man died in this district of Uttar Pradesh today. Naresh Chandra (45) of Milkipura was keeping unwell for the past few days, sources said. Following financial hardships, he could not get timely treatment and died this morning. UNI.....
