Six per cent DA for Orissa govt employees

Bhubaneswar, Oct 8 (UNI) Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced six per cent DA for all the government and all aided educational institutions' employees in the state.

The DA will be made effective from January 2007 but the employees would receive the arrear DA from January 2007 to September 2007 after March 2008 as the necessary fund for the purpose would be passed in the next Supplementary budget, official sources said.

The government also approved the 13 per cent arrear DA for the employees of the government aided educational institutions to bring a uniformity in the DA structure.

The aided educational institutions employees would receive the 13 per cent DA arrears from April 2006 in March 2008 after the approval of the supplementary budget.

This would remove the discrepancies in the DA between the government employees and those working in the government aided educational institutions as both the categories of employees would now get 35 per cent DA. The pensioners in the state would also receive the enhanced increment on the basis of six per cent hike in the DA,sources said.
