Panipat fire due to short circuit

Panipat , Oct 8 (UNI) Preliminary investigations in the yesterday's fire incident in a local textile factory have indicated that the fire broke out due to short circuit in an underground cable laid for taking illegal electricity supply.

As many as 11 industrial workers were killed in the fire that broke out at the textile factoty in the wee hours of yesterday.

However, the final opinion about the cause of the fire could be taken only after receiving the report from the forensic science laboratory, said Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Amit Kumar Aggarwal.

Two women committ suicide in Kangra

Dharamshala, Oct 8 (UNI) Two women committed suicide in two separate incidents in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh last evening, police sources said today. Both the women drank pesticides at their respective residences in Gurkhari and Soura village of the district and died hour after being admitted to hospitals. The sources said a 21-year-old woman, identified as Mala, a resident of village Gurkhari, married a year back drank pesticides at her residence last evening while the family members had gone to.....

Nitco to invest Rs 80 crore to expand capacity

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) Ceramic and vitrified tile maker Nitco Tiles Ltd today said it plans to spend Rs 80 crore in doubling capacity at its tile manufacturing plant in Maharashtra. The capacity will be scaled up to 24,000 sq mt a day from the existing 13,500 sq mt, company said in a statement. UNI.....
