JD(S) objects Yediyurappa's statement

Bangalore, Oct 8 (UNI) State Janata Dal (S) President Merajuddin Patel took strong exception on former deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa's statement on former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and declaring 'holy war' on the party.

In a statement issued here today Mr Merajuddin Patel countering BJP leader's allegation that former prime minister Deve Gowda had betrayed on the issue of transfer of power he stated that Gowda was always stick to his stand to keep equidistance from both BJP and Congress.

Taking strong objection to making attempt by BJP to mix religion with politics the State JD(S) chief criticised that it was unconstitutional. Yediyurappa has no any moral rights to criticise Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda.

Kumaraswamy resigns, blames political compulsions

Bangalore, Oct 8 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minsiter H D Kumaraswamy today tendered his resignation to Governor Rameshwar Thakur after his Government was reduced to a minority following the withdrawal of support by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Talking to newsmen after submitting the resignation he said that political compulsions had acted against his conscience on the transfer of power issue and accused both the Congress and the BJP of attempting to split the Janata Dal (S) by wooing party legislators to gain.....

PNB Branch Manager caught taking bribe

Chapra, Oct 8 (UNI) The vigilance sleuths arrested Narayanpur Branch Manager of PNB Shashi Prakash while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 here today. Official sources said here that on a tip-off the vigilance sleuths arrested the Branch Manager under Saraiya police station in Saran district. The arrested Branch Manager was being brought to Muzaffarpur for interrogation. UNI.....

J'khand HC directs govt to take action against law offending autos

Ranchi, Oct 8 (UNI) Jharkhand High Court today directed the Ranchi district administration to take action against auto rickshaw drivers who create problems during plying of city bus services introduced here recently. A division bench, comprising Chief Justice Muthuswamy Karpagavinayagam and Justice Amreshwar Sahay, passed the order while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by one Janak Kumar Mishra. During the course of interrogation, the court observed that city bus services, a cheap means of travelling in cities, existed throughout.....
