Body of Sri Lankan national handed over to relatives

Tiruchirappalli, Oct 8 (UNI) The body of Sri Lankan national Warnakulasuriya Canicius Fernando (44), who was gunned down by a security guard at Madurai Central Prison recently, was handed over to his relatives here today.

Police said the body was handed over to his relatives after all the legal formalities.

The Sri Lankan national, a native of Negombo in Sri Lanka, was shot dead, when he attempted to enter the prohibited area of the prison to meet his colleagues, who were lodged there.
