Akhand Pratap Singh's police remand extended by 3 days

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) Special CBI Judge I K Kochar today extended by three days the police remand of former Uttar Pradesh chief secretary Akhand Pratap Singh in a disproportionate assets case.

He was arrested by the CBI on September 25 under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

An FIR against Singh was registered on March 19, 2003.

The prosecution alleged that Singh has been uncooperative during the investigation.

The judge after hearing the application for the extension of police remand ordered for the same.

HC directs Collector to pay compensation within three months

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) Delhi High Court today directed the Land Acquisition Collector, North-West Delhi(Kanjhawala) to award the supplementary amount to the five villagers whose land had been acquired in the year 2002 by the department but no compensation had been paid still. Three session judges of Punjab elevated to HC

Chandigarh, Oct 8 (UNI) Three district and sessions judges of Punjab were today elevated as Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. They were administered the oath of office by Chief Justice Vijender Jain.
