PoK refugees to observe Oct 22 as 'Black Day'

Jammu, Oct 7: Refugees from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), residing in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir and outside, have resolved to observe October 22 as a 'Black Day', the date when tribals attacked Muzaffrabad, Mirpu and Kotli and killed thousands of non-Muslims.

Chairman of an organisation of PoK refugees, SOS International, Mr Rajeev Chunni in a press conference here yesterday said, ''All members of refugee families, who were forced to exile from their places in 1947, will wear black badges on October 22.'' Mr Chunni said, the 'Black Day', will commence with the paying floral tributes to the Sikh and Hindu people who lost their lives in tribal invasion, followed by a 'Sarv Dharma Sabha' to pray for the departed souls.

Thereafter, the refugee community will stage protest in support of their long pending demands and rights.

India, Pak Auditors General discuss cooperation

New Delhi, Mar 13: India and Pakistan today agreed to strengthen cooperation between the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) of the two countries in areas of public audit and accounts. Pakistan's Auditor General Mohammed Yunis Khan, currently on a five-day visit o India, met Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vijayendra Kaul and discussed with him ways to strengthen cooperation between the SAIs of the two countries. Mr Khan who arrived here yesterday, also met senior officials.....
