Shimla, Oct 6 (UNI) The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has opposed the proposed inclusion of sex-education in the school syllabus and demanded Indian practices like Yoga and Dhyan should be taught to youngsters to make their character strong.
Criticising the government's proposed induction of sex education in the school syllabus, ABVP national secretary, Shriniwas, asked the government why it was keen to introduce the sex education that would only ''spoil our social and cultural values''.
He demanded that ''Yoga'' should be introduced in the syllabus.
In its state conference rally held here today, ABVP has termed the Congress-led state government's tenure as ''the education destructive period'' due to which the standard of the education in the state was fast deteriorating, said ABVP state secretary, Manchali Thakur.
The state government's illogical nod to the recruitment of PTA teachers, affiliation to numerous B.Ed. and SCVT institutes only shows that the state government is not serious to provide quality education in the state, she said.
