Railway official shot dead in Agra

Agra, Oct 6 (UNI) A railway official was shot dead by some masked men at Rakabganj area of the Taj city.

The assailants indiscriminately fired upon a 45-year-old Jaspal who was on his way to office. The critically wounded died instantly, police said yesterday.

The reason behind the murder could not be established. However, a manhunt had been launched.

Islamabad, Oct 6: Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf goes into a presidential contest today sure of polling enough votes to win re-election, but uncertain whether the Supreme Court will let him claim victory. US court imprisons Afghan drug lord for 15 years

NEW YORK, Oct 6 (Reuters) An Afghan heroin kingpin was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for heading a drug trafficking ring, US officials said. Baz Mohammad was the first person to be extradited to the United States from Afghanistan, US Attorney Michael Garcia and Karen Tandy, head of the US Drug Enforcement Administration, said in a statement yesterday.
